From first steps onstage to final bows, Encore’s summer camps are where creativity takes center stage. Ages 3–15 explore theatre through imaginative play, performance, and collaboration, ending with a final sharing. Kids build confidence, make friends, and shine onstage, backstage, and beyond—all in a fun, supportive, “theatre by kids, for kids” environment!
For kids ages 3-5, (best for rising PreK and Kindergarten), Encore is excited to provide a summer experience for our youngest theatre lovers. In this morning program, students are engaged through activities tailored especially for them: song and movement, music and rhythm, storytelling, and crafts. Our experienced teaching artists will welcome your little ones into the warm and wonderful world of theatre with a fun new theme each camp week. These camp programs will conclude with a final sharing on the last day of camp.
For kids aged 5-9 (best for rising 1st-4th graders), we’re excited to offer a summer of brand-new themes to captivate your students’ minds and activate their energetic creativity through a jam-packed week of movement, character creation, problem solving, and more! These camp programs will conclude with a final sharing on the last day of camp. NEW! Our Summer On Stage is a two-week camp where our young actors will rehearse, produce, and perform a one-act musical!
For kids ages 9-12 (best for rising 4th-7th graders), it’s time to take your interest in theatre to the next level! Join our professional theatre artists to take a deep dive into diverse and fascinating topics. Bust a move in Broadway Bootcamp, go on a fantastical journey with Dungeons and Dragons, or explore your design skills with Costume and Makeup Design camp! This is your chance to focus on what captivates your attention and makes your creative spirits soar!
For kids ages 12-15 (best for rising 7th-10th graders), this immersive camp experience will give students a glimpse of what it’s like to work as a theatre professional. Mornings are spent sharpening performance skills. In the afternoons, students put these skills into action, collaborating with other artists in the daily rehearsal process. Each camp production is led by Encore’s professional teaching artists, with the curriculum enhanced by workshops with guest artists. Past workshop topics have included stage combat, clowning, makeup design, and physical comedy. Students will have the opportunity to participate as either actors or designers/crew members as they channel their creative energy, talent, and enthusiasm into a production.
Camp dates: June 15 - August 28, 2026, located in several Arlington and Alexandria locations
